The universal, age-old pursuit, is the fountain of youth. In 1513 Ponce De Leon landed in St. Augustine Florida in pursuit of it. Of course, he didn’t find what he was looking for. However, if ever there was an actual fountain of youth, it would have to be intermittent fasting.

Intermittent Fasting For Immune Function

As we enter another cold and flu season, proper immune function is a hot topic. The debate over the safety, and effectiveness of vaccines continues.

There’s an interesting paradox when it comes to Intermittent fasting for improved immune. It’s interesting because, during a fast, immune cell (leucocyte) count goes down, pointing to weakened immune.

However, after the fast is over, immune cells come on strong. In fact, the entire immune system is rejuvenated. (1) These findings tell us to be smart about fasting, and not overdo activity and/or exposure during a fast. However, we can expect our immune systems to be far better, as a result.

Another Reason To Go Organic

There’s a lot of discussion today about gluten sensitivities and the benefits of eliminating wheat, and other gluten containing grains from our diets.

Wether you’re celiac, or simply have a food sensitivity to gluten, you’ll feel better by eliminating: wheat, barely, and rye from your diet. However, it is estimated that only a little over 1% of the population has full-blown celiac disease. (1)

The percentage of gluten sensitive people is no doubt much larger. However, this doesn’t seem to adequately explain why so many people have trouble with wheat. There may be more going on here. The chemical herbicide Roundup, may be the culprit.
